Armán Blanco Barrica 2008

Bright yellow coloured with greenish nuances and steel like metallic shades. Glyceric and of unctuous presence.

Medium intensity aromas, very clean and easy to identify. These aromas are proper of this variety, Reineta apple, melon, small stone fruits (specially a local variety of small peach). Cake and jam aromas as a result of a pampered fermentation.

Spectacular reception in the mouth, greedy and fresh. Interesting sweet and acid balance. It leaves a predominantly fruity taste that prevails over the fine wooden aromas. These wooden aromas are so well integrated that its structure and complexity surround its citric nuances.

Excellent after taste, silky, gliceric and unctuous. Its 13.5º are perfectly balanced with its acidity.

It is a round wine with and long and pleasant aftertaste that invites to have another sip.

Preparation
The grapes were stored in boxes and refrigerated at a temperature of 12ºC. Later, already in the press, they were submitted to an 8 hour period of maceration at lower temperatures. After pressing, the fermentation was prolonged for another 16 days at a controlled temperature of 18ºC. The resulting wine was finally stored in 500L casks made of different French toasted oak boards and lids. Battonnage was periodically realized. This wine was kept in contact with its lees until April, when it was finally passed on to the stainless steel tanks until its bottling in August 2009. The resulting 2.750 bottles are now resting on wine racks, waiting for the optimum moment of commercialization.
